Site Description

Walt Disney Concert Hall is situated on a 3.6 acre, full city block in the historic Bunker Hill section of Los Angeles. A large portion of the site will be dedicated to an urban park with expansive public gardens and ornamental landscaping.


December 1999:

Construction Commencement

Spring 2001:

The first concrete pour of the roof of the main hall and the erection of the pre-cast concrete acoustical panels

Summer 2001:

Completion of the structural steel, including the framing of the main auditorium seating and erection of the six roof trusses

Summer 2001:

Commencement of installation of stainless steel panels on the exterior of the Concert Hall

Late 2002:

Completion of the curtain wall of the Concert Hall

Fall 2002:

Completion of the acoustical ceiling of the main auditorium

Fall 2003:
